    Great article, I like to show player Brute’s dump set.

    Particularly, for awhile they tend to use the offhand backhand as a counter throw back to the open side, which gives a nice shape away from the dump defender, I think UCSD players do this too now?

    I’ve debated with people whether this dump should be a short pass (Malinowski in particular has such long arms that it’s almost unstoppable as a handoff) or a longer throw with more space. I find one con of close is that if it’s gusty, it’s hard to adjust at short range. A con of the longer throw is that they run further to the breakside – in some cases a feature for changing the angle, in ho stack a con because it runs into the breakside handler defender’s help area unless they do the Fury clear.

    I like to practice Brute’s dump set as part of Mario O’Brien’s throwing progression practice.
