Flood is a very popular play which can be used in a vertical, split or side stack, and is used to create a throwing channel where the stack used to be.

A flood is used to describe a method where all players in the stack cut laterally, “flooding” to one side which creates a clear lane for the rearmost player to cut underneath. The rearmost player in a stack is often backed, so this method usually leaves the isolated player open cutting under.
