Off of a pull, Australia's cutters set up in a horizontal stack and isolate a cutter who gets open under. Another cutter cuts diagonally deep and receives a perfectly placed deep throw for the score.

Breaking it down

1. Isolating cutter

After the disc is centered, Australia's cutters work together to isolate a cutter in a horizontal stack. May Lee Rickards-Tang (#20) starts out on the open side and clears towards the middle of the field while Lucy Deller (#4), who starts out on the break side, cuts towards her defender before making a wide under cut into the cleared space. Notice that even though Japan's open-side handler defender sags into the open lane, Reyer Carpenter (#1) manages to throw through the open window and pass the disc to Deller.

2. Deep Cut

By the time Lucy Deller (#4) has caught the disc and turned downfield, the cutters in the middle of the field have moved out of the open lane. Meanwhile, Angela Pidgeon (#14) makes a diagonal deep cut from the break-side. Notice that Pidgeon drives at her defender's shoulder, causing her defender to turn her hips and giving herself a head-start deep.

3. Deep Throw

When Lucy Deller (#4) sees Angela Pidgeon (#14) cutting deep, she steps forward and launches an outside-in forehand that leads the receiver and curves perfectly into Pidgeon's hands. As Pidgeon's defender accelerates towards the disc, Pidgeon keeps her body in between the defender and the disc to prevent any defensive plays.
