Setup:

A handler, A, starts with the disc near the sideline. A reset, B, stands 5-8m away, perpendicular to the sideline.

Rotation:

A > B

Step 1

Image of Double Alpha
  • B starts facing A. A begins facing downfield, then initiates the play by turning to face B.

Pre-Requisite Drills:

None

Tips:

  • Brummie says:

The aim here is to practice changing direction, and therefore this is a move aimed at deceiving a defender.

It is vital that the defender is convinced your cut backwards is a real one, so run hard and call for the disc.

Aim slightly infield of the sideline on your throw; if the receiver goes out of bounds then the opportunity for continuation is lost
