Jakob “Dunsi” Dunshirn started playing ultimate in 2015 with Mosquitos Klosterneuburg. After quickly rising through the Austrian youth scene, they moved to the Netherlands and joined GRUT for their 2022 WUCC campaign, finishing 5th in the world and becoming a European champion. In 2024, Jakob returned to Mosquitos and helped develop the young Austrian team into an elite squad, culminating in their first EUCF title in 2025.
Known as an excellent defender and a dynamic handler with a strong motor, Jakob was awarded the 2025 European Player of the Year in the mixed division. Alongside their playing career, Jakob has gained extensive coaching experience with GRUT, Mosquitos, at Disc in camp and with various Austrian national teams, and is valued as a high-energy skill coach with creative drills. Beyond the field, Jakob works as a social psychologist specialising in gender equality and safeguarding in sport.
