While you can always just “play defence”, your team will be far more successful if you adapt your tactics to those of your opponent’s offence. Making adjustments to your defensive positioning, both on the mark and downfield, will enable you to funnel the offence into spaces that they don’t want, and help to deny areas of the field that the offence wants to exploit.
